know, one of the most amazing things that I've seen the Devil do is imitate
me. Now, I'm not talking about Rich Little, I'm not talking about an impersonator,
like a comedian -- I'm talking about actually duplicating my voice, my body,
my face, everything about me. And I've had this happen on several occasions
when I was dealing with people in the highest echelons of the occult seeking
to get out.
On one particular occasion, I got a phone call from someone to whom I had
been ministering deliverance. This individual thanked me for having come to
visit them and for the things which I shared. And this particular person went
on to tell how much that it had affected their life, and how they believed
that I was right in what I said, that they really did need to back off from
God for a while and get a perspective on things, because by withdrawing from
the Lord for a season, their life might be better off in the long run spiritually
because they would be more sincere in how they would pursue Christ once they
returned to walking with Him.
Can you imagine that kind of logic? It made a little bit of sense. Now, no
one should ever withdraw from the Lord, no one should ever turn their back
on God. There would be no point in withdrawing from God for a season. But
the demons convinced this individual that that's what they should do. And
the demons believed it.
The reason they believed it is because they had a visitor. I had explained
how suddenly I was able to find time in my schedule to be with them and arrange
a trip where I could come and spend some time counseling them. And yet, the
fact is I had never left my home city of Denver, Colorado. It wasn't me, and
I wasn't there." [Bob Larson, Bob Larson Live, 3/26/96]
